February 15th - Phone

Please hold and a representative will be with you shortly. Sometimes that shortly will take a good 45 minutes! I have a hold button but I've only used it 3 times in the past 4 years!!

February 14th - Heart

I have a slight obsession with turning paper clips and staples into heart shapes that I then collect at my desk. I can't help it. My fingers just go to work if I hang on to one of those metals for too long.

February 13th - Blue

Me. 11 years old. Blue as a blueberry. Blue background. Blue knit top with blue polka dots. My dad cut my hair at the time! He swore he cut my bangs perfectly straight. But alas, he was either perfectly blind, perfectly delusional, or trying his hardest to make me feel perfectly beautiful!

February 12th - Inside your closet

I have always admired clothes hung on identical hangers. Mine are clear plastic from Target. I worked in retail in my younger years and anyone who's worked retail will tell you, without exaggeration, that during 'close' all the sections of the store had to be color coded and one finger spacing with all the hangers! Although I don't do the one finger spacing at home, can't promise that I don't resist the urge, I do try to keep my closet as organized as possible. I start with arranging my clothes by type, length, and color. If you were to open my closet you'd find dress pants, jeans, skirts, dresses, dress shirts, jackets, and sweater dresses. All in that order.

February 11th - Makes You Smile

No, I don't make myself smile. Although I crack myself up from time to time!! But the red balloon makes me smile every time I look at it. Balloons in general put a smile on my face! Colorful ones, big and small, although I'm not too much in to the shaped into a poodle or rose type of balloon!

February 10th - Self Portrait

February 9th - Front Door

The window on the top end of my front door makes me so happy when I look at it walking in and out of my house. It lets through the perfect amount of sun in the morning! It's so decorative and whimsical! Who knew the glass to my front door would make me so happy!

February 8th - Sun

I took this picture at work this morning! The big window is directly behind me when I sit at my desk! The sun making its debut through the blinds warms my back and acts as a natural heating unit. As a kid, I would love to nap when the sun would warm up the sheets through a window and keep me nice and warm acting as a blanket!

February 7th - Button

Tonight I sit next to the husband as he works on emails and reports!!!! I can hear the clicking of the keyboard buttons. Click click click!!!!

February 6th - Dinner

Although this was not what I actually had for dinner, it is something I prepared tonight and will be enjoying for a couple of days!

It's an egg and potato salad with a good helping of cilantro!!

Ingredients:

10 eggs boiled, peeled, chopped
6 medium potatoes cubed
2 handfuls of cilantro chopped
1 tablespoon Mayo
3 tablespoons of sour cream
Black pepper
Paprika
Salt-to taste and boil the potatoes in

I boil, peel, and chop the eggs. I cut six potatoes into little cubes and boil them with a little salt until cooked through but still firm; otherwise, if the potato is cooked through and then some, it just becomes egg and mashed potato salad! Eww!!

Now back to my salad!

After the potatoes are done, I drain all the excess liquid and combine the eggs and potato in a large bowl. It's important that absolutely no stirring is done until all the ingredients are in the bowl. It prevents the salad from becoming mush!

So, in goes eggs, potatoes, two handfuls of chopped cilantro, a tablespoon of mayo, three tablespoons of sour cream, a hearty pinch of black pepper and a slight pinch of paprika.

Now, once all of the ingredients are in the bowl, gently mix, almost like you would fold cake batter! Once everything is mixed, taste it. This is the point you can decide whether to add salt. Since mayo is slightly salty and the potatoes were boiled in salt, I don't add additional salt until the very end if needed! Nine times out of ten, it won't need it!!

And there you have it!! Egg and potato salad!! Enjoy as a sandwich, on a cracker, or just by itself! It pairs well with ripened tomatoes and provolone cheese!!!

February 5th - 10:00 am

10:00 am came and went for me today! At around that time, I was dragging myself to the kitchen to make a nice hot cup of coffee! As the hot water hits the coffee and the aroma begins to fill the room, I slowly begin to wake up!

But then I waited til 10:00 pm thinking I can be clever and take a picture and write up an interesting tale. That time came and went too. I was preoccupied with deciding on what to watch through netflixs! I ended up watching nothing and instead reading through a few blog posts from other bloggers!

And so, I find myself here and I'm left with 10:27 pm. I decided to say heck with it and take the picture! This day's photo challenge was difficult for me! Maybe tomorrow will be a tad bit gentler on me!

February 4th - Stranger

Today's photo challenge was the most difficult for me. I felt so violating taking a picture of a stranger! Poor guy! All he wanted was a hot cup of coffee and what he got was the coffee and his mug shot! Sorry Mr. Ihavenoideayouaretakingapictureofme sir!!!

February 3rd - Hands

The hands that love, hold, work, caress, feel, hurt, pull, push, and give high fives!! I realize I have a photo of my left hand but I promise I have a right one as well, in case you were wondering why I wrote 'hands' in the first sentence instead of hand.

While I realize that not everyone has the ability to use both their hands, I am thankful that I can do the above things I wrote about and some with the two that I have now.

February 2nd - Words

This is my Target store list. If I don't make a list of all the things I really need around the house, I will end up walking from aisle to aisle buying unnecessary things in unnecessary quantity! Heck, who am I kidding. I still walk aisle to aisle at Target!!!

February 1st - Your View

Doing my makeup in the car while driving to work. Mascara is the star of my makeup routine!! If all else fails, mascara mascara mascara!!!!

I used to love collecting the pencils that had cartoons or glitter on them. Like the Lisa Frank pencils all too popular on the 90's! For some reason, I happen to have a pencil with little cartoon fish on it at my work desk!

Photo Challenge Day 9 - Daily Routine

I took today's photo challenge to document a very mundane reoccurring day for me. Unfortunately, I go through this routine of a day Monday through Friday. I live for the weekends, holidays, and sick days!

Just a little something about each photo...I wake up in the mornings almost always 20 minutes after my alarm goes off! I am NOT a morning person. Once the brushing, scrubbing, and beautifying are done I find myself on the road to face about an hour of traffic. Slow snail crawling traffic! It's L.A. - what's a day without traffic? Lunch time is my favorite part of the work day! The pizza in the photo is from Fresh Brothers pizza! It's Da Works on thin crust with light sauce! It is yummy! The picture with the traffic again is my hour drive home! One word, two syllables. Awful! Lastly, once I'm done with the drive and the minor housework and dinner prep, I find comfort on my awesome couch. It has one of those lounge type extensions that is perfect for, well, lounging! Yes, I still have my Christmas tree up!

Who can really say they drive by the Statue of Liberty everyday while commuting to work! Me me me!! I wonder what would posses a homeowner to erect a mini Statue of Liberty on their front yard! This is by far my favorite.....statue!

Photo Challenge Day 6 - Makes you smile

Although I've already put this picture up on my blog a while back, it makes me smile everytime I look at it! Even though it's two paper clips bent and shaped into hearts - to me it represents the heart of me and my love. After 10 years of knowing each other, 6 years of dating, and almost 4 years of marriage later, I still learn something new about this thing called love!

With the beautiful Southern California weather we are having today - I wore flip flops to work after a lunch time pedicure!! It's a perfect 84 degrees and just lovely!!
